 Dr. David L. Humphrey Jr.

Picture
David Louis Humphrey Jr., Ph.D., is Associate Vice Chancellor for Leadership Support and Programming at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he provides strategic leadership to advance equity-centered organizational transformation and collective flourishing.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Humphrey has been married to his beautiful partner for 16 years, and together they are raising four beautiful Black sons: David, Daniel, Dylan, and Dominic. He is a first-generation college graduate and a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated – the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men. His family, his city, and his fraternal bonds ground his work in the conviction that education must serve the liberation of all people, especially those the system was never designed to hold.
Dr. Humphrey's research and praxis sit at the intersection of curriculum theory, BlackCrit, womanist traditions, and critical approaches to organizational change. His work refuses the false separation of mind from body, individual from collective, past from present. He attends to the body as a site of knowledge, the ancestral rhythms that sustain resistance and renewal, and the radical interconnectedness of all things.
Transformation, he insists, is not a policy; it is a practice that begins in the body, is sustained through community, and is inherited from those who came before. Dr. Humphrey earned degrees from Alabama A&M University (B.A., Psychology), Liberty University (M.Div.), Eastern Michigan University (M.Ed., Educational Leadership), and Ball State University (Ph.D., Educational Studies). He is recognized as a scholar-practitioner who bridges theory and practice with vision, imagination, and moral courage – guided by the prophetic belief that another world is not only possible, but already being built by those brave enough to dream it into being.

Additionally, Kimberly has participated in West African Dance Camps and Workshops, and danced with the Women's African Ensemble for three years. Tim Hall, commonly known as DJ BIGG DADD, has over 26 years of experience as a professional deejay. He began his career as a mobile deejay, performing at local parties, weddings, and school events before moving on to deejaying in Atlanta Metro Area nightclubs and adult bars. DJ BIGG DADD also provides music editing services to other DJs.

Later in life, he would transfer his passion for music to the roller-skating world. He has been the featured deejay for gospel, adolescent, family, and adult programs. After more than two decades of spreading his love of music in the Atlanta metro area, he married and moved to Aurora, Colorado, where he founded BIGG DADD Entertainment, and deejays in local Denver skating rinks. He continues to entertain at parties, schools, and community events. He currently deejays the adult skate night at Roller City in Lakewood, Colorado.

He's a great deejay because of his wide range of musical tastes. Curtis Mayfield, Outkast, Leela James, and Steely Dan are among DJ BIGG DADD's favorite artists. "I like to offer a WOW factor when I deejay and not only am I a deejay but, a mixologist," he remarked when questioned about his deejaying approach.

He’s known for providing “Bigg” mixes and his mixes can be enjoyed on the Mixcloud website at www.mixcloud.com/djbiggdadd.
